Our Picks for Best Moped Style Ebikes of 2024: the Ride1Up Revv1, the Power Goat V2, the Ride1uUp REVV1 DRT (on the right vs Super 73 on left), and the Yadea Trooper
Narrowing Down Your Options
Moped style ebikes have become the EV of choice for riders with a sense of style and a budget between $1200 and $3400, but it can be hard to know which bikes are worth the money.
The hundreds of new models out there make it easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of specs, features, and competing reviews. Obviously, no one can review every single moped style ebike out there – there are just too many – but we wanted to share those we’ve reviewed this year that we know are worth the cost.
With several years of riding experience on every kind of personal electric vehicle you can name, we feel confident in recommending these moped-style ebikes as excellent places to start, or continue, your journey.

Ride1Up Revv1 – $2,295 (on sale)
First up is the Ride1Up REVV1, a competitor to the famed Super 73 series that more than lives up to the hype. This is one of our favorite moped style bikes we’ve tested this year. It’s got a ton of power, it’s very comfortable to ride, and you get a top speed of 35 mph (when unlocked) – all for $2245.
It’s hard to find anything with this level of polish and build quality at this price. The ride feels solid and stable, and Ride1Up does an excellent job of giving you value for every dollar. The REVV1 comes with full suspension, and though it’s not exactly tuned for off-road riding, it feels amazing on the road.
You do get an off-road riding mode, which you have to unlock with codes from Ride1Up after purchase. This is how to unlock the bike’s top speed and get more power.
Overall, the REVV1 is one of the most solid ebikes we’ve ever ridden. You can jump up and down on it and feel the plush bounce of the suspension. It’s agile, but it has a noticeable heft that inspires confidence right away.
You can mostly ignore the “off-road” part of off-road mode – the REVV1 is perfectly tuned for street riding and incredibly fast and comfortable on the road.
Most Powerful Moped Ebike – Power Goat V2
Power Goat V2 | Specs |
---|---|
Price | $2,499 |
Top Speed | 40-50 mph |
Riding Modes | Pedal assist or all-electric mode |
Drivetrain | Shimano 7-Speed |
Range | 50 mi (pedal assist); 28 mi (throttle) |
Max Load | 450 lbs |
Motor Power | 2,000W (Peak 3,000W) w/ 110 Nm of torque |
Battery Size | 48V 1200Wh |
Tires | INNOVA All-terrain 4″ front/4.5″ rear |
Suspension | TRAMA front fork; FASTACE 2 x 250 lb rated rear suspension |
Power Goat V2 – $2,499
Up next is the Power Goat V2. What’s awesome about this ebike is that not only is it relatively affordable – it goes for around $2,600 – but it’s also very powerful. In the rear is a huge hub motor that outputs a peak power of around 3,000 Watts, making this one of the most powerful ebikes you can purchase in this price range.
You also get a large battery, which means you get good range with this bike, but our favorite part of the Power Goat V2 is this massive seat. It’s perfect for a passenger, and it even comes with pegs, so you can take a date out on your bike.
The Power Goat V2 has full suspension, but we’ll be honest, we found this to be one of the bike’s weaker points. The suspension felt firm and jittery, and not great off-road. However, you can replace the shocks in the rear for something better.
We really liked how wide the handlebars are, giving you a nice amount of control. You can get a wide, comfortable riding position. Of the three riding modes, Mode 2 is plenty fast for cruising around, and Mode 3 just offers a tone of power and acceleration.
Of course, there’s the 7-speed Shimano drivetrain, with pedal assist that takes a few rotations to kick in, but you’ll probably find yourself using the throttle the most, as with most moped style ebikes.
Overall, we’d have to say the Power Goat V2 is an amazingly feature-packed ebike for the price, with all the power you’ll ever need to frighten people on a Sunday ride.

Ride1Up REVV1 DRT – $2,595
Didn’t we already recommend the Ride1Up REVV1? Yes, we did. And didn’t we say it wasn’t great off-road? Yes, unless you get the REVV1 DRT, designed specifically for off-road riding.
The first two bikes on this list are both built for speed and power on the street. Off-road, their limitations become more apparent. The REVV1 DRT, on the other hand, handles like a champ on downhill mountain bike trails and pretty much anywhere else you want to take it.
It isn’t only the suspension that won us over on the trail, either. The riding position gives you a ton of confidence when you’re off-road, and that feeling is critical on gravel, loosely packed dirt, and other hazardous off-road terrain.
How much do we like this bike off-road? A bit ago, we compared the REVV1 DRT to a Super 73 moped style ebike of the exact same price, and the DRT embarrassed the competition in every category: speed, suspension, overall feel, build quality, performance on the dirt trials we tested, everything was better on this bike.
For the money, it’s hard to find something with suspension this good and a build this solid – and it actually feels good to pedal on the DRT. Both this bike and the regular REVV1 have the most natural riding positions of all the moped style ebikes we’ve ridden, which makes them more useful as actual bikes than the others.
While the suspension on the DRT is superior to the regular REVV1, we’d still go with the standard build if you’re primarily a street rider.

Yadea Trooper 01 – $1,999
Our final pick comes from a worldwide best-seller of electric bikes and scooters, even if they aren’t as well-known yet in North America. Yadea makes quality ebikes, and the Trooper 01 is one of the cheapest ways to get into moped-style bikes as a beginner for less than $2,000.
It’s not the fastest ebike on the list and doesn’t have the best suspension, but you get a very well-built bike with a 750W motor and a simple single-speed drivetrain. The distance between the seat and the pedals makes pedaling a bit awkward, so you’ll primarily use the throttle with a bike like this.
In terms of stability, the Yadea Trooper 01 gets top marks for its build quality – probably its best feature overall. It’s a simple bike that just feels nimble and light, and its lower weight gives you more control if you’re just starting out.
The Trooper works as a platform for modifications if you want to improve the suspension or replace the motor for more speed and power, or it works as a great standard entry-level moped style ebike at a price more riders can afford.
Summing Up
So, these are our top picks for best moped-style ebikes this year. We’d love to test many more of these in the coming year so that next year’s list is as comprehensive as possible, so we look forward to testing more bikes and sharing our impressions with you. Stay frosty, and wear your helmet!
